President, PR First
Jim Farrell is the founder and president of PR First, which has helped businesses and organizations gain positive media coverage since 1998. Prior to launching PR First, Jim was the publisher of several weekly newspapers on the South Shore of Massachusetts, and then worked in public relations/marketing for two area companies before starting his own firm.
PR First is a seven-person agency located in Hanover, MA, serving clients throughout New England and beyond. The company’s leadership team hails from the newspaper and media world. They know and understand the needs of the news media and they understand how to match a client’s news and expertise to those media needs.
Public relations helps boost a company’s visibility and showcase its knowledge and expertise, thereby offering business owners a competitive advantage in today’s marketplace. PR First assists clients with writing and distributing press releases, helping clients be seen by the media as sources in their areas of expertise, working to obtain feature and expanded coverage of a business, and assisting in writing and placing guest columns from clients on websites, as well as in newspapers and magazines. In today’s rapidly-changing media landscape, public relations dovetails well with other forms of marketing, including advertising and social media. Jim and his team believe that the best marketing campaign is one that utilizes a variety of options, and that PR should definitely be in that all-important mix.
PR First president Jim Farrell serves on the Board of Directors for the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Hanover Chamber. He is a former member of the Kingston (MA) Housing Authority and the Kingston Public Library Foundation.
